Record the Meetings

Better memories by Memorex! (and fewer CPS LIES!)Trying to remember weeks later "who said what" at meetings is useless.

Spoken words disappear into the air, and these people will deny or twist what they said to you or what you said to them if you can't prove it.

So record it. Make sure you have FRESH batteries- this plan does not involve a power cord.

The first time you pull this stunt on them, you want to catch them off-guard. Don't let them see the recorder when you carry it in.

When the meeting starts, with the recorder on your lap, push the RECORD button, turn the record volume as high as possible, set it on the table, and casually TELL THEM you are recording this for your later reference and ASK IF IT'S OK.

If they refuse to have their words recorded, you have evidence they do not wish to "keep everything above board".

Repeat their refusal "So you refuse to have this session recorded and want me to turn the recorder off?" INTO the recorder before you turn it off.

If they refuse to be recorded, YOU HAVE NOTHING ELSE TO SAY.

Leave the session and go talk to a LAWYER. It's your right- use it.

You might notice an immediate change in their tone, attitude, and behavior when their words are being permanently saved.
